Player
A major component of fun for your child as well as the expert athlete is skill development. This is even greater than winning or losing. Encourage them throughout the season and point out their progresses from ball handling and shooting to passing and off the ball movement.
Coaches and Officials
Be kind to your child's coach and to the officials. The coach is a volunteer-giving of personal time and money to provide a recreational activity for your child. The coach is providing a valuable community service, often without reward other than their personal satisfaction. Without them your child could not participate.
Parents
Get involved. The more people you know on the sidelines, the more fun you will have. If you think the kids go crazy over the snack at the end of the game, try bringing in Krispy Kremes for the parents on the sidelines, but be careful how close your fingers are to them when holding the box. Band together and cheer on the kids. It's truly amazing over the years how strong a soccer community can be built. Here's to your childs fun and exciting soccer career!
